Terminal V Podcast 086 || AIDA ARKO

Aida Arko delivers hypnotic, groove-driven techno with a sense of movement and depth. Influenced by her Persian heritage, her sets build tension and emotion, even in the hardest moments.

Splitting her time between Vienna and Berlin, she’s been making waves across Europe’s underground scene.

With new releases and a remix tour on the way, she’s also set to bring her signature sound to Terminal V Croatia, keeping the energy relentless and immersive.

What role does your Persian heritage play in shaping your sound?

It’s in the hypnotic rhythms and the literary depth of the vocals I use—otherworldly and meaningful. The deep emotional layers and the way I build tension in my sets are also rooted in my culture.

Even in the hardest techno I play, there’s a sense of movement and storytelling that comes from my roots.

What part of DJing and producing gives you the most satisfaction?

Sharing energy with the crowd. Seeing techno grow globally and being part of that evolution fuels me.

Also, those magic moments in the studio when an idea just clicks.

Is AI good or bad for creativity and DJing?

It’s a tool. It can inspire and streamline, but the human element—the instinct, the energy exchange—can’t be replaced.

It’s all about how we use it.

If you could have made any track or album in history, which would it be?

Boards of Canada – Music Is Math.

It’s nearly 20 years old, yet it still feels timeless. Deep, emotional, and full of real, beautiful feelings in a single track.

Tell us about your mix.

I used a lot of my upcoming productions on this one, along with some bombs from my favourite producers.

Hypnotic, driving, and evolving—it’s the energy I bring to my sets: relentless yet immersive, always pushing forward.

What gear did you use?

I usually record my mixes live in Traktor with my external controllers and mixer for full control over effects and loops.

What’s coming next for you?

New releases, an EP, and a remix tour with some of the best labels in the industry.

Amazing shows and upcoming projects that I can’t wait to announce.
