We say goodbye to the Royal Highland Centre
For a decade, the Royal Highland Centre has been synonymous with Terminal V. Since launching in 2017, the festival has grown from a 5,000-capacity event into one of the UK’s leading electronic music festivals, welcoming more than 250,000 fans to Edinburgh and earning recognition as Scotland’s number one electronic festival, fifth in the UK and 34th in the world in the DJ Mag Awards.
Across nine editions, Terminal V has played a defining role in Scotland’s electronic music landscape, bringing some of the genre’s most influential artists to the Royal Highland Centre, including Klangkuenstler, Restricted, Azyr, Amelie Lens and Charlotte de Witte. Its growth has been driven by ambitious production, multi-arena staging and a commitment to creating immersive experiences that continue to push the boundaries of electronic music.
As we reflect on the 2026 edition, the festival’s final year at the Royal Highland Centre, we look back on nine years of defining moments and unforgettable experiences that have shaped Terminal V and its place within Scotland’s electronic music scene.
Now, after 10 years in the making, a new chapter begins.
In 2027, Terminal V will move to a never-before-used outdoor location in the industrial heart of Glasgow, marking the festival’s first edition in a new city setting and its 10th anniversary. The move will introduce an entirely new festival environment while retaining the world-class production, atmosphere and energy that have defined Terminal V over the past decade.
The location may be changing, but the ambition remains the same. Terminal V’s next chapter is set to be its biggest yet.

A new home. A new era.
